Here are the pictures I furtively took in Rome's excellent museum of historic instruments. Sorry the focus and angles aren't too hot, photography isn't allowed, and the staff kept a watchful eye on me!
Various cornetti and flutes.
L'arpa Barberini, 17th cent.
German harpsichord, 1537.
Chitarrone in the center, but I can't quite remember the other two. Any ideas?
Chitarrone, lute, and cornetti, 17th cent.
19th century Neapolitan street organ. What stories could it tell?
Various 19th century trumpets
A cimbasso; it appears to be shaped like a bassoon with a tuba mouthpiece.
Serpents! Mozart and Mendelssohn wrote for these oddball brass/woodwind hybrids.
Military bugles, 19th/20th centuries.
A beautifully painted 18th century spinet.
