I am running
Late across
Roads that hurt
My soles.
Sweat covers me
In layers and
I am nervous and
My heart races.
Cars and noise
Move faster than me.
I fail to cross on green when
I catch my eye on
A rising shape:
Your arm, above your shoulder,
Forming a square beside your head.
White skin and clear eyes,
Shining for me at sunset.
